ContactPix

Terms of Service

What you can expect from ContactPix, and what we expect from you.

Effective 29 July 2026 · Last updated 29 July 2026

The short version. ContactPix is free, has no accounts, and runs entirely on your iPhone. You get a personal licence to use it. You are responsible for the contacts on your phone and for the photos you choose to save to them. We provide the app as-is and can't promise the social networks it depends on will keep working — but nothing here takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Agreeing to these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and GeekLingo for the ContactPix iOS app (bundle identifier com.geeklingo.contactpix). By downloading, installing, or using ContactPix — including through TestFlight before public release — you accept them. If you don't accept them, don't use the app.

ContactPix is published by GeekLingo, based in Australia. You can reach us at info@geeklingo.net.

Our Privacy Policy explains what the app accesses and where that information stays. It forms part of this agreement.

Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use ContactPix on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, for your own personal use, in line with the Usage Rules in Apple's App Store Terms of Service. Where those Usage Rules allow Family Sharing or volume purchasing, this licence extends accordingly.

ContactPix is licensed, not sold, and we keep every right we don't expressly grant you. The app, its name, its icon, and its design remain ours or our licensors'.

What you need

  • An iPhone running iOS 27 or later. ContactPix is iPhone-only and relies on iOS 27 APIs that have no equivalent on earlier releases.
  • Permission for ContactPix to access your contacts. Without it the app cannot show your address book or write photos to it.
  • An internet connection, to sign in to providers and download photos.
  • An account with at least one supported network, so there is somewhere to fetch photos from.

Your accounts on other networks

ContactPix connects to services we don't run — currently Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Telegram, Gravatar, and, once enabled, Instagram. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies, not ours. You are responsible for holding the accounts you connect, for keeping them in good standing, and for not using ContactPix in a way that breaches a provider's terms.

GeekLingo and ContactPix are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple, Google, Meta, LinkedIn, X, Telegram, or Automattic. Product names and logos belong to their respective owners.

You can disconnect any account inside ContactPix at any time, and revoke the app's access from the provider's own settings.

Your contacts and other people's information

ContactPix works on an address book you already have. The contacts on your phone are yours to manage. You confirm that you are entitled to hold that information and to add a photo to a contact record, and that doing so is lawful where you live.

If you use ContactPix for work — on a phone holding customers, clients, or colleagues — you are responsible for meeting whatever privacy, employment, or record-keeping obligations apply to you. GeekLingo receives none of that data and cannot assess it on your behalf.

ContactPix only writes a photo to a contact after you have seen it and chosen to save it. Photos already written to your address book stay there if you delete the app; you can change or remove them in the Contacts app.

Photos and ownership

Profile photos fetched through ContactPix belong to the people who created them or to the networks that host them. The app simply moves a photo you have approved onto a contact record on your own device, for your personal use. It gives you no ownership of, or licence to, those photos beyond what the network already grants you.

Don't use ContactPix to build a photo database, to redistribute or resell images, or to compile profiles of people for a purpose they haven't agreed to.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Copy, sell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute ContactPix.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent that law expressly permits it despite this restriction.
  • Circumvent, or try to circumvent, a provider's rate limits, permissions, authentication, or API terms through the app.
  • Use ContactPix to harvest data at scale, to stalk or harass anyone, or for any unlawful purpose.
  • Use the app where you are barred from doing so under applicable export or sanctions law.

Price

ContactPix is free and contains no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or advertising. If that ever changes, we will say so before the change takes effect, and any purchase would be handled by Apple under the App Store terms rather than by us.

Pre-release versions

ContactPix has not yet been released on the App Store. Any build you receive before then — through TestFlight or otherwise — is a pre-release version. It may be incomplete, may behave unexpectedly, and may change or be withdrawn without notice. Feedback you send us about a pre-release build may be used to improve the app without obligation or payment to you.

Availability and changes

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may stop supporting a provider whose API changes. Much of what ContactPix does depends on services outside our control: a network can alter its permissions, restrict an API, or withdraw access at any time, and a feature that works today may stop working for that reason.

We don't promise the app will be available without interruption, or that every match it proposes will be correct. A proposed match is a suggestion for you to approve or reject, not a statement that two people are the same person.

Warranties and your consumer rights

Australian Consumer Law. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures you are entitled to a replacement or refund and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods or services remedied if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies those rights, or any equivalent non-excludable rights you have where you live.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows, ContactPix is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, and other than for liability that cannot be excluded — including under the Australian Consumer Law — GeekLingo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of ContactPix.

Where our liability can be limited but not excluded, it is limited, at our option, to resupplying the app or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Ending this agreement

You can end it at any time by deleting ContactPix from your device. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms. When the licence ends you must stop using the app and remove it; the sections on ownership, warranties, and liability survive.

Apple's role

These terms are between you and GeekLingo, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for ContactPix or its contents. Accordingly:

  • Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for ContactPix.
  • If ContactPix fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation in relation to the app.
  • GeekLingo, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim relating to ContactPix, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.
  • GeekLingo, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging any third-party claim that ContactPix infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, on your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll update this page and move the "last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use ContactPix after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and you and GeekLingo submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.
